Show Notes #1: Adding A Favorite
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 8:56AM Today on the show (in our staff meeting), I talked about how to make a "favorite" in Internet Explorer, and I praised the work of our vendor, OnPoint, and why they're an awesome vendor.
For a refresher on how to add a favorite, visit http://websearch.about.com/od/internet101/ss/favorites.htm
I also talked about our technology equipment vendor, OnPoint, and explained what makes them much more than a vendor. Specifically, I shared:
1) How to find our OnPoint Learning Portal: here's the link- https://onpoint.myhaikuclass.com/do/account/login. E-mail me at buzz@thisweekinedtech if you can't remember your user name and password.
2) How to search for, and download, just the right lesson for use in the classroom from among OnPoint's ever-growing number of digital lesson plans.
When you arrive at the OnPoint portal, click California State Standards. Then, along the left navigation bar, you'll find grade levels listed from K-8. Click on your grade level. Then, continue to click down until you see the precise State Standard you're looking for, whether it's Language Arts, Math, or whatever. You should begin to see mimio ink files. You'll know they're mimio ink files because the title of each lesson is underlined and labeled "mimio ink file." Click to download a file that looks interesting, and then save the lesson to the desktop. Organize each lesson into your own file structure on your computer.
If you have any questions, e-mail me at buzz@thisweekinedtech.com
At the end of the staff meeting, Mrs. Feaster wanted us to leave on an uplifting note, so she shared the following YouTube video with us:
